We strive to build applications that are as easy to use and intuitive as they are helpful and productivity enhancing. Hopefully, we have hit that mark, but just in case, we have FAQs for both Easy Dials It and VoiceCentral...
VoiceCentral
- Apple pulled VoiceCentral frome the App Store
As has been widely reported at this point, we are very sorry to announce that Apple removed our VoiceCentral app from the App Store. This happened suddenly, swiftly and with virtually no advance notice from Apple.
There is no need to panic, as VoiceCentral will continue to function. We're working on the VoiceCentral Black Swan Edition
The FCC has decided to investigate the Apple, AT&T, Google Voice situation, and we are still hopeful that we will be able to return VoiceCentral to the App Store.
The Ad Hoc builds that we were distributing during the intermitable delays from the App Store are problematic, as they are limited time releases, and expire per Apple's provisioning scheme.
You can find the latest info on our Blog, or on Twitter.
- I can't access messages from unknown/anonymous callers
This issue was reported over the weekend. It is most likely caused by a recent change on Google's site and we are actively working on a solution.
We expect to have a fix for this by tomorrow. If you would like an ad-hoc build once we have the fix, we will need you to submit an incident from within VoiceCentral. To do so, launch VoiceCentral, go to the Settings tab, scroll to the bottom and select VoiceCentral Info, and tap the Contact Us button. From there, submit a request to Technical Support stating that you are requesting an ad-hoc build due to a known issue. By submitting the incident through VoiceCentral, information will be sent to our server that allows us to create an ad-hoc build for your device.
- How do I get a Google Voice account?
VoiceCentral does not give users the ability to create a GrandCentral or Google Voice account. If you do not have a GrandCentral or Google Voice account, then you will need to register with Google to be notified when they start allowing new registrations.
- Does VoiceCentral work on the iPod Touch?
Yes it does. The App Store setting that would allow users to download VoiceCentral took longer to get thru Apple's systems than we thought, and that caused some frustration. We're sorry about that.
- Why do I have to pick my mobile number in the settings?
When you place a call using VoiceCentral, you will first receive a call at your mobile number and then the outbound call will be connected.
- Can I use a number besides my iPhone's mobile number to place calls?
Yes, as long as you are in a location where you can answer the inbound call when it rings. For example: if you are at home, you can specify your home number as your mobile number to place calls using your GrandCentral/Google Voice number without using minutes on your cellular plan.
- Is there any way, once you have logged in and after closing and starting the app again to come directly to keypad?
Go to the Settings tab, look beside Default Screen, and verify that it shows Keypad without going to the list of options for that setting. If not, select it again. Once saved, close VoiceCentral using the Home button on your iPhone and then launch VoiceCentral again.
- I am having trouble dialing from the contacts list using GrandCentral. Is there a solution?
This is a known issue caused by a change in Google's web site and has been fixed and is ready in the current release on the App Store.
- The App gets stuck on startup on "Setting mobile number..."
Some phone numbers are being returned from Google with a +1 and some are not, so it is causing mismatches that hang the app. As a workaround, some users have reported that removing the app from their device and syncing it back via iTunes will resolve the issue.
