Boxcar?

Postby schmegs » Sun Jul 18, 2010 6:16 am

Hello!

I know there are other ways to get notification support on Boxcar from Google Voice (via e-mail), but is it possible for y'all to use the Boxcar ( http://boxcar.io ) APIs to implement a simpler notification system (as a service in the Boxcar settings) for VoiceCentral?

I like boxcar they are fast but they have lots of downtime in my experince. I think boxcar would have to API into google voice some how and you know also how Apple is with approving anything with word google and voice in it. Last thing thats boxcar wants is to get kicked out of the apps store for some dumb reason. Im sure many people want to develop for it but its just a touchy subject i think for Apple.

What sort of integration did you have in mind? I am not personally familiar with Boxcar, so keep that in mind when you respond. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like essentially the same thing as Prowl. I suspect that you're entering a personalized Boxcar e-mail address into your GV settings as the address for new VM/SMS notifications and then Boxcar sends a push notification to your iPhone each time your Boxcar e-mail address receives a new message. If that's the case, the only integration I can imagine off the top of my head is setting the e-mail address in your GV settings for you. Is that what you mean?
