Block Caller

Postby recycle » Fri Jun 18, 2010 8:25 pm

I was getting this annoying telemarketer calling me while on vacation, and I wanted to be able to block the caller's number. Can I add this as a feature request?

As a reference, you can do this from the Google Voice website by selecting a call, clicking the "more v" link at the bottom of the call bubble, and selecting "Block Caller". This will cause future calls from the matching Caller ID to hear the "number is not in service" message. If we could do that from the "Recent" calls and/or Voicemail tab that would be awesome.

Thanks!

Is this the same as marking a number as SPAM? There is a request for that in our tracking system.

Actually no, I think blocking and spam marking are different: numbers marked as spam still ring to the caller (but not you) and can leave a voicemail, but the voicemail goes directly to the spam folder. Blocked calls never even get to ring.
