A favorites list is crucial. I wouldn't wait until after the beta to implement it. The lack of this feature could be seen as a big black mark on Black Swan (not that I'm complaining -- the program is terrific, and I applaud the team for circumventing the App Store without requiring users to jailbreak -- but this feature would be a big improvement).

I agree, Favorites is absolutely necessary. It's pretty much the only way I dial the majority of my calls when I use the iPhone's interface.

I agree with other posts about including Favorites on the main tab list. I like that their is a button in the contacts, but it's still too tedious to get to when I'm on the move and trying to make a quick call. I had two ideas about how to make this happen without losing functionality.

The easiest perhaps is to make the launch menu items user configurable. I'd hate to give up quick access to any of these, but I'd probably opt for one tap access to favorites over something like setup or even the dialer. In all honesty an extra button click to get to the dialer isn't going to be a deal breaker for me given that it's already the least convenient way to place a call. My thought was to replace the settings icon with a more icon that would pop over a list of other screens. The user could select which icons to place on the main launch menu and which to include under more.

Second option relates to the multiple icons that you already said in other posts are on the horizons. Given how similar you are to Apple's interface already, why not just split out SMS into a separate page/web clip. This would free up space in the launch menu for a Favorites link.

In the meantime, have you noticed that VC remembers which list (Favorites/Contacts) you were on last? If you go to Favorites and then to other tabs, the Contacts tab will default to the Favorites list even after restarting the app. In effect, it's like having a tab for Favorites.

Just wanted to follow up/provide some additional feedback. I had noticed that VC remembers which list was used last and initially thought this feature would meet my needs. In practice though, I'm only dialing out of my favorites about 50% of the time ... even after some fine tuning of my favorites list. Often times, it's back and forth between the lists. What makes this even trickier is that while the app is loading, the favorites/contacts buttons are blocked by status messages. I can navigate all other menus except this one. So if for example I'm on favorites and need to call a contact, I have to wait 15s for the app to refresh (or download an update) before I can start to look for the contact.

This hasn't been a show stopper ... I much prefer VC to the standard GV web app, but it has been sufficient reason to skip VC and just dial from the iphone on occasion. Thanks again for all of the hard work! I look forward to future updates.
