Xcom mifi service

I have been reading reviews of this SIM based mifi box/service.

I want to rent one for travel use in France this summer. Not cheap but will work
with my Android (Nexus One) and her ipad at the same time.

Its unlimited data for about $18/day.

Has anyone used their VoiceCentral account with it? Any options that might fill the bill?

Thanks!

I have not used that service personally, but I would expect it to work with VoiceCentral as long as they do not explicitly block access to App Spot or the standard SSL port (443). I cannot imagine a legitimate reason for them to block App Spot or SSL.

One thing you might consider is sending an e-mail to their support department asking if they can reach https://voicecentralwe.appspot.com using their service. They should see a message stating "Direct access to this site is forbidden. Redirecting in 10 seconds...", which is our "you are not an iPhone" message. If they see that message using their own service, you should be able to use VoiceCentral with their service.
