GVoice Password required for beta testing?

I received the beta testing link, but it requires my google voice password. This could pose a problem, since, in effect, that is the same password for all my google accounts (docs, gmail, calendar, etc).
Is this a potential security breach point/reason for concern, and are there any viable work arounds to this?

This is a common issue with all third party apps (including the native iPhone app) that are between you and your data.
Voice Central is acting as a proxy between you and google. Yes, that requires a bit of trust on your part, that we arent malicious. We dont store your credentials.
There is no workaround, other than to not use VoiceCentral.

I would also add that everything is over https so nothing is transmitted in the open.

So the username and password is only recorded locally in the browser store, or is it also on the Riverturn servers?
Have steps been taken to prevent other appspot.com sites from accessing the store used by VC?

Credentials are only stored on the phone. They are passed to our proxy service when you login (over SSL), and never stored permenantly anywhere besides your local phone.
