Hi,

I tried to make a call to my home phone, it showed sucess but no dial tones from my ipod touch, did I miss anything? Thanks.

I don't think you can call using an iPod touch. Google voice is not VoIP, but it uses minutes on a phone.

In a short answer. Google voice is not a VOIP provider right now. You have to have a line. It essentially compliments any existing line. You have one number to reach all of your phone lines.

I know you can use the ipod to make calls but you need a SIP clients like Fring.
