Alphabetical Listing not Accurate

I'm noticing the listing of names is split up for some reason. For example, the first heading is "A", and there are a bunch of contacts. Then "a", where several contacts are listed with "and" (see previous post). Then it goes to "A" again. Then little "a" again. Then back to "A" again. No other letter seems to have this effect, so just the A's.
