Network Consultant
Description:
A member of a software deployment team delivering Network Change/Configuration Management solutions. Third Party software that enables compliance and enforces operational best practices by tracking, validating and automating network infrastructure changes across globally distributed, multi-vendor networks.
Responsibilities:
- Install and configure software on behalf of our customer to their clients.
- Debugging of low level operating system, networking, and application problems.
- Develop Python/Perl/Shell/VB scripts and batch files for automation of system and application administration.
- Train customers in the use, administration, and customization of software.
- Package client's custom technology and applications for client use.
- Work with customer to deploy large scale, business critical applications.
- Customize and extend software based on customer's business requirements.
- Develop custom applications using APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and industry standard programming languages like Python, Perl, Java, and Visual Basic to meet client's business needs.
Skills:
- System administration and debugging experience on two of these platforms: Windows, Linux, Solaris.
- Network configuration and troubleshooting on large IP networks. DNS and DHCP administration experience a plus.
- Automation of common tasks with Python, perl, shell scripts, VB script and batch files.
- Experience with software packaging (e.g. RPM, MSI, etc.) and software distribution.
- Basic administration of MySQL and Oracle databases.
- Experience with BMC Remedy or other Change Management tools a plus.
- Ability to work with customer teams directly
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
