Things we like: I will teach you to be rich, Mint, Pandora

I have followed Ramit’s site (I will teach you to be rich) for awhile and there are always some good tidbits. I have checked out his chapters he posted for his book and there is some good information sprinkled here and there. All in all it is a good way to prune out things you don’t need and effectively control your expenses. His book launched today and he is throwing in a bunch of free stuff if you order it (Free Kindles every hour, gift certificates, etc). You can buy it from Amazon today and take advantage. Plus it is only about $11 so it is worth the investment. His website is getting killed now so it will be hard to get there at times. He is already up to #1 on Amazon even over the Twilight series.

One of the tools he mentions is Mint which is a great, easy way to keep track of expenses, investments, etc. Its free and a good way to stay on top of your finances. I use it all the time and the email reports it sends every week make it super easy to keep track of where you money is going.

As I mentioned in the other post another great tool is Pandora which allows you to create your own music station. It streams the bands you pick, along with suggestions that are close to those bands. All in all it is a great application that introduces you to a lot of other bands that you might like. I usually have it in the background all day and I end up purchasing music from Amazon or Itunes because of it. They also have a great iphone app that lets you stream right to your phone which we do around the house with my iphone and a dock. They are bundling the tool with other devices (like I mentioned before with the samsung blu-ray player, the squeeze box, etc) so you can minimize how many devices you to integrate into your home audio.

Good luck and hopefully someone out there will win a Kindle/Gift Certificate/etc from Ramit. pk
